We had a fantastic response to our presentation at Nanofiber and Related Technologies (NART) Conference in Raleigh, NC on 13-15 September. It was great to finally meet some colleagues for the first time, meet new people and re-new old friendships in the nanofibre community. The research in nanofibre continues to grow (3000 papers a year!), and its great to see the technology becoming well established in the filtration and energy sectors, and new advancements in life sciences just a step away from commercialisation. It’s great to be part of such an innovative sector.
Thanks to our clients at Akron Ascent Innovations for the hospitality at Akron, and a special opportunity to dine with Dr. Darrell H. Reneker, one of the world’s foremost experts in electrospinning: http://www.uakron.edu/cpspe/documents/faculty-profiles/FacultyProfile-Reneker.pdf
Finally I was hosted by Carl Rees and North Carolina State’s Electricities for a tour of the burgeoning NC State textiles industry – Joint School Of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology; the Manufacturing Solutions Centre; the Wake Forest Institute for Health. Amazing innovation, and very welcoming people. Thanks to Carl and all the passionate NC State people that made us feel so welcome, and were so receptive to what Revolution Fibres is doing with nanofibre.
